The Torridon

I run out of superlatives to describe how perfect our stay was at The Torridon. My fiancé and I celebrated our engagement at The Torridon and the staff could not have done more for us. From my initial contact over the phone with Lorna, to the incredibly thorough and warm check-in from Hazel; we were treated like royalty. We were lucky enough to stay in room 3, which was by far the most beautiful hotel room either of us had ever stayed in - the views over the loch with Highland cattle grazing right outside was the perfect Scottish snapshot. We also ate in the 1887 restaurant and had exquisite food and wine followed by a whisky (or 2) in the signature whisky bar. Breakfast was 12/10, with a generous menu of indulgent options. We asked to tweak one of the ingredients on our breakfast order and our waiter replied "anything is possible at The Torridon" and that sums up our stay perfectly. Thank you to all members of staff who made our first 48 hours of engagement so very special.

A fabulous location with stunning views. The food is good - locally sourced, fresh, and tasty. The afternoon tea with scones was just perfect, with a rich, homemade jam. The whiskey lounge is a must for anyone, whether new to the delights of a wee dram or a coniseur. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and ideal for walks. Alternatively you can walk though the trees around the hotel and along the Loch. Either choice is a delight.

Absolutely stunning! Wonderful service, amazing surroundings, beautiful views and easily the most relaxed, incredible hotel we have ever stayed in. We recently got married at The Torridon, from the moment we arrived we were treated exceptionally. The wonderful staff could not do enough for us. From the reception staff to the food and beverage staff, from the gardeners to the outdoor pursuits, from housekeeping to the bar manager Shane.. All completely exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my visit was remarkable. Their genuine warmth and dedication to service truly made my stay memorable. Absolutely loved The Torridon. The accommodation was beautiful and the location is just magic. The best part about our stay were the staff we got to know. Craig and Isaac were so entertaining and great to chat to, fantastic service! And Eliza and Dom were so helpful and just lovely people to deal with. Not all the meals we had were great, but the team were amazing and I would go back for their service alone.

We stumbled across this absolute gem in The Highlands a few years ago, while looking for a quick stop off on our way to Loch Maree. My wife spotted some Highland cows in a nearby field. We fell in love with the place and decided to come and visit on our Mini Moon tour through Scotland in October 2023. We booked the 'Mini Moon Experience' package which included 2 nights accommodation, a meal at the amazing 1887 restaurant some brilliant little goodies (e.g. flowers) plus an activity. The whole experience, staff and venue were second to none in our eyes. Veshengo was our guide for the archery, plus... the Highland cow watching which he very kindly let my wife do too. Thanks again Veshengo for this - it made her day. The food was exceptional, with some seasonal variety thrown in which was really great and refreshing to see too. The whisky tour we did was fantastic, especially given the food pairing added to it. It is the only whisky tour we have done that has finally changed my wife's views on whisky, to the point she actually enjoys it "slightly" now. Credit goes to Shane for this fine work. Simply put it's our favourite hotel on the planet and we'll go back as often as we can to enjoy it. Thanks again guys :)

Our new nickname for this hotel is 'The Torrid' - such a shame! The most beautiful location, but everything else lets it down. An expensive hotel at the best of times, we had such an awful stay that we checked out a day early, even though we had to pay for it!!! The staff were not engaged, in fact they definitely mostly didn't want to be there and certainly didn't want to look after their guests. We couldn't eat in the main restaurant, Bo and Mac had no atmosphere, the food was OK, but that was it. My breakfast eggs were freezing cold, no apologies. Our rooms, in the stable block, were awful for the price and noisy. No-one seemed to be in the bar, and the whisky bar, which should be been amazing, with all the whiskies, the guy who eventually served us wasn't knowledgable enough to be serving in this place. whoever dishes out the stars to hotel should review this place and remove several of them.
